Until the 1970s, this Riserva was the only wine bottled and labelled by the Stucchi-Prinetti family. It continues to represent the estate’s best selection. Never a powerhouse, it highlights Sangiovese’s lightness and elegance. True to form, the 2021 is tastefully and tastily refined. Discreet aromas of iris root, liquorice, cherry bark and heather are precisely focused. Wild strawberry, orange peel and sour cherry flavours tempt the palate, and taut tannins intensify with almost surprising grip but never overstep the well drawn boundaries. Unwaveringly refreshing and delightful now – but has more to reveal.
