Based on 52% Merlot, 36% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the balance equal parts Petit Verdot and Malbec, the 2018 Trutina is another inky color beaty offering impressive aromatics of blackberries, black cherries, tobacco, chocolate, and spring flowers. Medium to full-bodied and nicely concentrated, with ripe tannins, it has a seamless, elegant texture, no hard edges, and a great finish. It certainly over-delivers at the price.

A rich and polished nose of plums, baked blueberries, cedar, milk chocolate and lavender. It’s full-bodied with a beautifully plush and creamy texture. Ripe, velvety tannins. Soft, rounded finish. 52% merlot, 36% cabernet sauvignon, 6% petit verdot and 6% malbec. Drink now or hold.

Vanilla, baking spice, coconut and cocoa aromas are in the lead. They are followed by dark cherry and plum flavors that show saturation and intensity. It hangs on the finish and there's tannic heft behind it all.
