Cabernet Sauvignon one of the most sought after and powerful red varieties, with pronounced tannins as well as great potential for decades and decades of aging. The world’s most popular red wine grape is a natural cross between Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc from Bordeaux, France. Cabernet Sauvignon is loved for its high concentration and age worthiness.  Wine drinkers today can find many Cabernet Sauvignon options in the market. Some Cabernet Sauvignon wines are sumptuous and fruity, others are savory and smoky. Founder Herb Becker opened the Wheat Ridge store in 1961, & moved it to the current location in 1974. Herb sold the store to Alan Freis, current owner Jim Shpall's father-in-law, in 1980. In 1994, Freis talked his son-in-law into co-ownership. Since Jim Shpall's entry into the business, Applejack has spread in square footage like an amoeba.
