French 75

This classic French cocktail will keep you coming back for more because it is so fresh and delightful. The drink dates to World War I, and an early form was created in 1915 at the New York Bar in Paris.

Ingredients

    • 2 oz London dry gin
    • ¾ ounce fresh lemon juice
    • ¾ ounce simple syrup
    • 2 oz Champagne
    • Long spiral lemon twist (for serving)

Mix It

  • 1. Combine gin, lemon juice, and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker.
  • 2. Fill shaker with ice, cover, and shake vigorously until outside of shaker is very cold, about 20 seconds.
  • 3. Strain cocktail through a Hawthorne strainer or a slotted spoon into a large flute.
  • 4. Top with Champagne; garnish with lemon twist.
