Black fruits, dark chocolate, vanilla, cumin, cedar dust, butterscotch and dried herbs. Lush chocolate custard with cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, ginger and licorice. Full, rich, lush with gorgeous fruit and spice notes. Long silky finish with flavors of blackberry, black pepper and touch of vanilla. This wine has a classic Hedges style with a modern touch, very enjoyable now and will age for years to come.

Call this deep and complex wine a Bordeaux-and-beyond blend. 39% cabernet sauvignon, 30% merlot, 19% cabernet franc, 5% malbec, 3% syrah, 3% petit verdot, 0.5% souzao and 0.5% touriga. Ample, tasty black cherries, bittersweet dark chocolate and cranberry-like tannins. From biodynamically grown grapes.

A good value, the 2021 Red Mountain is based mostly on Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. It has a great, classic nose of mulled red and black fruits, cedarwood, baking spices, and sagebrush. Medium to full-bodied on the palate with a round, layered, supple mouthfeel and nicely integrated tannins, this pleasure-bent, complex, satisfying red will keep for a decade.
