Rich, fruity and generous, but also spicy, smoky and well-braced by acidity and moderate tannins. It’s a syrah that has it all, deep blackberry and blueberry flavors laced with white pepper, singed rosemary and black cherries that expand on the palate and linger on the finish. Drinkable now, but best from 2028.

Another terrific Syrah from this team, the 2021 Syrah The Deal is all varietal and comes from the Sundance Vineyard on the Wahluke Slope. Its deep ruby/purple hue is followed by a terrific array of red, blue, and black fruits, as well as some classic Northern Rhône game, violet, leather, and iron-like nuances. It's complex, medium to full-bodied, has ripe tannins, and a beautiful mouthfeel. It's stunning stuff as well as a brilliant value.

Dark and brooding in the glass, the 2021 Syrah The Deal mixes grilled herbs and olive tones with blackcurrants and crushed ashen stones. Silken and elegant, it features polished black fruits and a distinct salty-mineral sensation that forms toward the close. The mouth waters through the mentholated finish as liquid violet florals and citrus-tinged blackberries resonate over a bed of fine tannins.
