The Riesling 1961 Block, a slightly unusual take on Eden Valley Riesling, is always worth seeking out. Wild yeast ferments and some lees aging add impressive details to the traditional Pewsey Vale package. Tightly wound, it offers up a focused core of saline and granitic aromas with an exotic citrus skin and pith lift. The 2023 is textural and savory in style. A refreshing burst of acidity underpins generous layers of flavor before unwinding over a more supple finish. This is a wine that needs a little time to show its best.
