The name “Mayro” comes from the latin word “mavrus”, which means black, dark, recalling the dark colour of this wine. Delicate aromas of plum and cherries on the nose, full-bodied in the mouth with a long intense aftertaste.

The Biscardo family owns Fosso Corno and has been producing wine since 1897. Today the estate is solely dedicated to Montepulciano vines. While Abruzzo is dominated by very large, low quality COOP's and commercial wineries, the Biscardo family is slowly building a name for quality Montepulciano.
